Who we are
Isobels is a small, hands-on bridal and menswear boutique, run by people who genuinely enjoy weddings and the people who plan them. We opened in November 2007 and have grown into one of the best-known independent bridal boutiques on the South Coast, holding ourselves to a standard you'd expect from a much bigger name.
Inside, you'll find hundreds of dresses and rails of menswear, along with the kind of careful, calm attention that turns a fitting from a chore into an afternoon worth remembering.
Where we work
We're on Ashley Road, between Lower Parkstone and Lilliput in BH14, a quick drive from Sandbanks, Branksome, Lower Parkstone, Canford Cliffs and the centre of Poole, and only a few minutes from Bournemouth town centre. There's parking nearby and we're easy to find from the A35.
Most of our brides and grooms come from Poole, Bournemouth, Christchurch and the rest of Dorset, but it's not unusual to have couples travel down from Salisbury, Southampton, Winchester and beyond, particularly for the outlet.
How we work
Appointments are either semi-private or fully private, and always unhurried. We do our best work when we can sit a couple down, hear about the wedding, and only then start pulling dresses or suits from the rails. That means we don't rush, we don't oversell, and we don't put anyone in something that isn't right.
Final fittings, in-house steaming and collection all happen in store, with both bridal and menswear ready to collect the week of the wedding. The same team that helps you choose your outfit is the team that hands it to you, so there are no third parties and no surprises, just the people you've already met.
What we stand for
Three things, mostly. Patience: most outfit decisions are easier when no one is rushing you. Honesty: if a dress or a suit isn't right, we'll say so kindly rather than push the sale. And care: every wedding matters to the people in it, so it matters to us. That has been the same since we opened our doors in November 2007, and it isn't going to change.
In 2016 we were voted The People's Choice at the Dorset Wedding Supplier Awards, the only award we've ever really cared about, because it came from the couples who actually shopped with us.
