The short version. Browsing this website sets no cookies at all and stores nothing on your device. Our analytics are cookieless. The only cookies you will ever pick up here come from our booking provider, and only after you have actively asked to book an appointment. That is why there is no cookie banner: there is nothing to consent to until you choose to book.
What cookies are
Cookies are small files that a website asks your browser to store on your device. Some are needed to make something work, such as keeping you connected to the right server while you fill in a form. Others exist to follow you between websites and build a picture of you for advertising. The law treats those two things very differently, and so do we.
Browsing this site sets no cookies
You can read every page on this website, look at every gown, and send us an enquiry through the contact form, without a single cookie being set. Nothing is written to your device's local storage or session storage either.
We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or "like" buttons that report back to social networks. There is no Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, and no advertising network of any kind on this site.
The one exception: our booking form
Our appointment booking system is provided by BridalLive. On the Book an Appointment page, the BridalLive booking form is deliberately not loaded when the page opens. It only loads after you have filled in the first step and asked to go ahead. Until you do that, no connection to BridalLive is made and no cookie is set.
Once the booking form does load, BridalLive sets two cookies:

These are what the regulations call strictly necessary cookies. They exist purely to make a service work that you have specifically asked for, they do not track you, they do not follow you to other websites, and they are not used for advertising. Cookies of this kind do not require consent, which is why you are not asked for it. We are telling you about them here because being exempt from asking permission is not the same as being allowed to keep quiet about it.
If you would rather not have them at all, simply do not use the booking form. You can book an appointment by calling us on 01202 721821 or by emailing [email protected] instead, and nothing will be stored on your device.
How our analytics work
We use Umami to understand how the website is used, for instance which pages people find useful and whether a page is working on mobile. Umami is a privacy-first, cookieless analytics tool. It sets no cookies, it stores nothing on your device, and it does not follow you between websites.
It records anonymous, aggregated information only: which page was viewed, roughly which country the visit came from, and which type of device was used. It does not collect anything that identifies you personally, so there is nothing there we could link back to you even if we wanted to. Because it collects no personal data and stores nothing on your device, it needs neither a consent banner nor an opt-out.
Other things embedded on this site
One other service loads content on our pages, and we would rather point it out than leave you to find it.
- The map on our contact page is a Google Maps embed. We use the version that sets no cookies, and we have verified this. It also does not load at all until you scroll down far enough to see it, so if you never reach that part of the page, your browser never contacts Google at all.
Our fonts are served from this website, not from Google. Most sites load their fonts from Google Fonts, which hands your device's IP address to Google on every page you view. We host ours ourselves so that does not happen.
Why there is no cookie banner
Because there is nothing to ask you about. Cookie banners exist because sites want to set non-essential cookies, usually for advertising, and the law requires them to get permission first. We do not set any, so a banner would be a pointless obstacle between you and what you came for.
The two BridalLive cookies described above are strictly necessary and only appear once you have asked to book, which is precisely the situation the law exempts from consent.
Controlling cookies yourself
You are always in control regardless of what any website says. Every major browser lets you block cookies, delete the ones you already have, or refuse third-party cookies entirely, through its settings or privacy menu. Plain-English guidance for each browser is available at aboutcookies.org.
Blocking cookies on this site will not stop you reading anything or contacting us. It may stop the embedded booking form working, in which case please call or email us and we will book you in.
Changes to this policy
If we add something to the website that changes any of the above, we will update this page and the "last updated" date at the top before it goes live, not afterwards.
